[vc_row][vc_column width="1/1"][vc_column_text]There’s something about traveling and being able to explore a new city that excites me. Anywhere you go, there’s history to be learned and museums to see. Most cities offer unique architecture or an awesome botanical garden. Maybe there is an attraction that you’ve heard about and can’t wait to check out.
When planning for a vacation, I usually spend some time researching where all the best sites, hidden gems, and attractions are that you don’t want to leave without seeing. A few things that I do to make vacations as stress free as I can are planning things that are relatively close to where I’m staying. The less time you spend sitting in rush hour traffic on vacation, the better! Usually any city you plan on visiting, someone has written a blog about it. You can gain great insight by doing a quick online search. Travelocity is a good source to use if you want to read reviews about your hotel or an attraction.
While travelling, I especially love taking some time for myself to hit the re-set button. This is a great time for me to catch up on some much needed relaxation. For family fun, if we’re travelling in the summer, we absolutely have to hit the beach. I love being by the water, I find it very therapeutic. This is also a good time to catch up on some summer reading. If It’s in the winter, a good idea is to take in some of the sites that might not be as crowded as they would be during the peak of tourism. Then, of course, one of the best things about travelling is the food! I love trying new food in new cities. It’s those restaurants that the locals love, the places that have been hyped up on TV, and recommendations from friends that I make a point to visit.
Vacations don’t always have to be a week or longer for you to come back feeling refreshed. You could accomplish this with a weekend trip. Maybe you have some family that is a road-trip away that would love to see you! Whatever the case may be, remember to relax and enjoy yourself. You deserve it!
